A Day in the Life
Community, Shared Experience, and Academic Work Balanced with Play and Time to Contemplate

Morning
Every day begins with community building through contemplating God's Word, singing, and engaging beautiful pictures and ideas together.
Most students are best prepared for hard work in the morning so that is the time devoted to more rigorous pursuits. Each tutoring group will receive individualized instruction from the Tutors in arithmetic, grammar, writing, and reading/literature.
Lunch
The School Lunch Program is central to the culture of the school. Gathering to prepare, serve, and enjoy nutritious and delicious food and deep conversation daily is an iconic feature of Cottonwood Scholé Days.
School lunches include seated meal time with mentor led conversation.

Afternoon
After lunch all students participate in folk dance, school sports, free play time, or nature study prior to returning to academic pursuits.
The upper classes will participate in workshops, science and lab work, community service projects, woodworking and other handcrafts, and, at least once weekly, free nature study time.
The lower classes devote this time to nature study, tutor read-aloud and narration time, handcrafts, modern and ancient languages, music, and art.
